We have been sending money in small amounts (usually around $100) 2 or 3 times a year to our son in Canada. We have used Western Union to do this for the last 10 years or so and it always worked great.

This is the only transaction we have ever done with Western Union. So suddenly they refuse to do it and say we have set off a security alert. They say we have now been banned from using their 'service' and they don't have to tell us why.

We filled out a bunch of paperwork asking who we were sending the money to and why (he has the same last name so it should be obvious), then they responded by saying sorry, but you are still banned and will never be able to send or receive money from anyone via Western Union. To say we are bewildered by this is an understatement.
